We are a health-minded, inclusion-oriented psychotherapy practice. Our clients are a mix of adults and college students dealing with stress and anxiety, and looking for more than just a listening ear. You’ll find that our therapists balance appreciation of the individual, while drawing heavily from empirical evidence for what works.

“Why don’t you panel with more insurances?” Being experts in working with a few insurances ensures that we can help you navigate problem claims instead of leaving you on your own with this burden. As a courtesy, we submit most out of network claims on your behalf and check your benefits, rather than leaving you to do this on your own.

“Can I pay with a credit card or FSA/HSA?” Yes. ALL therapy services, whether with a licensed or a pre-licensed clinician, are considered qualifying expenses.

“Do you have a waitlist?” You can choose to subscribe to our monthly email list and call in as soon as we make announcements about openings.

“Will you speak with my physician or psychiatrist?” Yes, you’ll just need to sign a release. We believe that is part of good care.

“What are the licensing and governing bodies of my therapist?” You can reach out directly to the therapist’s relevant PA licensing board, including to make a formal complaint. They can be reached at:

State Board of Psychology

State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors

2023-2024 Licensed Psychologist Fee Schedule (please contact us about Master’s level and pre-licensed clinician’s fees, as they are different than those listed below).

  • $250, Initial Consultation (CPT 90791).  This is an extensive evaluation of your symptoms and history. Length is approximately 1 hour.

  • $250, Psychological Evaluation (CPT 96130, 96131). This is an evaluation of psychological symptoms using standardized questions and/or questionnaires for diagnosis and detailed treatment recommendations. Length is approximately 1 hour per CPT unit.

  • $170, Individual Psychotherapy (CPT 90837). Length of 53-60 min.

  • $145, Individual psychotherapy, 3/4 session, CPT 90834. Length of 38-52 min.

  • $35, No-show of appointment, or late cancellation of more than twice per year with less than 1 business day’s notice. We assume all missed appointments are valid and do not differentiate between crisis reasons for missed sessions vs. everyday schedule changes.

  • Inquire about fees for records release. Some fees may apply.

We accept the following forms of payment:

  • Check

  • Credit card/HSA or FSA card

  • Cash in exact amounts.

We participate in select insurances, and many of our clients use out-of-network benefits or pay out of pocket. This reflects clients’ awareness that our services meet their needs in ways that available in-network providers may not. We do this as an intentional decision on how we choose to spend our time; we put extra time into our clients at a price point that makes high-quality care sustainable, rather than seeing high numbers of in-network clients with more insurance restrictions than we can handle well. We expect payment at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made prior to the session. Your prompt payment helps us to run smoothly and continue to provide a high-quality service.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill, as outlined here: § 149.620

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call our office at (814) 954-7607.

Insurance information

We strongly encourage you to check your insurance benefits if you want to use them; we have a free form to guide you during that call to gather important information. We will submit your claims (in- and out-of-network) to save you the hassle and work hard to advocate for you if the need arises.

Some or most of us are in-network with Highmark Blue Shield and UPMC. If you have another insurance, you can use your out-of-network benefits and we will help navigate that. We also accept private pay.

We strongly encourage you to check your own benefits; we have a free form to guide you during that call to gather the important information.

If you have Aetna and are seeking treatment for insomnia or have had trouble finding a local opening, we are out-of-network, but after you have attended your first session, we can sometimes get approval for your in-network benefits to be used. This is on a case-to-case basis and not guaranteed.
