Find Other Providers

Some people opt to wait for an opening for our services. If you choose to do this, subscribe to our mailing list for announcements about openings (which is not a waiting list or guarantee that you will receive an appointment). If you have immediate or pressing needs, do not wait for our services.

If you are in a medical emergency, call 911.

If you are having a mental health emergency, call 988.

For immediate crisis assistance in Centre County (PA), the 24-hour crisis line phone is 1-800-643-5432. They also offer walk-in service and mobile services.

Ayama Psychotherapy’s crisis coverage, which is also available 24-hours and open to the public, is through Centre Helps at (814) 237-5855.

Insomnia

For insomnia and treatment of a variety of sleep disorders, Dr. Julio Fernandez-Mendoza of Hershey Sleep and Medicine is the next closest option we know of to treat a variety of sleep problems with behavioral interventions. You may need a referral from your physician.

Psychotherapy

For all other psychotherapy, you can call your insurance company for in-network therapists. Sometimes, insurance companies will assist you in finding an opening if you request their help.

Be aware that online listings for therapists may have the appearance of being “local” but if they only offer telehealth, they may not be. If it’s important to you to have the option to meet a therapist in-person even once, then specify that in your request. Local therapists tend to have connections with local resources to support you beyond the therapy room and also tend to have a depth of commitment to the larger local community.

Grief Support

We have a wonderful local resource for those going through grief. Be with others who understand what it is like to experience grief. If interested or you just want to know more about what is offered, contact Jackie Hook at jackie@jackiehook.com. You can also visit her webpage at https://www.jackiehook.com/helping-grieving-hearts-heal or visit the Koch Funeral Home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/kochFH where you can RSVP to events.
