How do you find a good therapist?
Follow these 4 steps.
Step 1: Know that any problem you identify will be welcomed with non-judgement by a therapist who is a good match for you.
At our office, we work with life stress, anxiety and insomnia, from college age through retirement. You can also read a description of what is involved in therapy at our office.
Step 2: Be located in the same state as the licensure of the therapist you want to work with, including for telehealth sessions.
To start as a client with our office, you must be located in PA.
Step 3: Do the work to find the right match from the start (vs. just going with the first available). Find out what the therapist is like before you schedule. Trusted friends and your family doctor are good resources to ask.
We are biased and recommend the work of any of our therapists, as all have a proven record of high quality care, but please review to see if any Ayama therapists have a vibe which rings true for you by reading their bios here.
Step 4: Don’t put off scheduling or getting on a waitlist. Pick up the phone or email while you are thinking of it. The best therapy is done before a problem becomes a crisis, and the best therapists are often in high-demand because people recognize that their help works.
For scheduling at Ayama, just click on “schedule” button next to your desired therapist’s bio (see link in Step 3). You will receive a response from us within 1 business day and we will walk you through additional details. Please note that we do enjoy a positive reputation in our community, so there can be a wait for our services.
If you are a parent of an adult child or concerned family member of someone you want to be in therapy, we kindly ask that you have the person who would be in therapy to contact us directly. We can easily get you involved as needed for logistics, and the process works better if the client starts to get to know us from the start. Trust us on this.
If you’re sort of interested in us but not quite ready, we recommend not scheduling, but signing up on our mailing list below so you are with the first people to know when future openings are available each month. That way, you can jump in when you feel ready.
If we aren’t quite what you are looking for in a therapist (we aren’t offended!), look at other options in our community.
We look forward to working with you,
